Locally optimum rank detection of correlated random signals in additive noise

چکیده
Nonparametric detection of a zero-mean random signal in additive noise is considered. The locally optimum detector based on signs and ranks of observations is derived, for good weak-signal detection performance under any specified noise probability density function. This detector is shown to have interesting similarities to the locally optimum detector for random signals. It may also be viewed as a generalization of the locally optimum rank detector for known signals. Examples of the test statistic of the detector are given for some specific noise probability density functions. Asymptotic and finite sample-size performance of the locally optimum rank detector is also considered.

Locally optimum detector for correlated random signals in a weakly dependent noise model
In this paper, we consider a discrete-time random signal detection problem under the presence of additive noise exhibiting weak dependence. We derive the test statistic of the locally optimum detector under a weakly dependent noise model. The performance characteristic of the locally optimum detector is analyzed and compared with that of the square-law detector in term of asymptotic relative ef...
متن کاملLocally optimum detection of signals in a generalized observation model: The random signal case
Locally optimum detectors for weak random signals are derived for a generalized observation model incorporating signal-dependent and multiplicative noise. It is shown that the locally optimum random-signal detectors in the generalized observation model are interesting generalizations of those that would be obtained in the purely additive noisy signal model. Examples of explicit results for the ...
متن کاملA locally optimum detector for detection of random signals under a weakly correlated noise model over fading channels
avoid interference from secondary users to primary holders with license in spectrum, it is need to have an appropriate spectrum sensing. In methods like spectrum sensing, where samples of noise are correlated, the impairments from independent noise samples do not provide optimum performances. So, in case of random signals over a weakly correlated noise model in fading channels requires a locall...
متن کاملA reduced-complexity quadratic structure for the detection of stochastic signals
Quadratic detection of discrete-time stochastic signals in additive stationary Gaussian oise is considered. A banded-quadratic detector structure is introduced to reduce the multiplieative complexity and data storage requirements ofthe optimum full-quadratic detector, and the optimization of this reduced-complexity s ructure is studied. The issue of performance versus complexity isexplored for ...
متن کاملPN Code Acquisition in Multiplicative and Weakly Dependent Non- Gaussian Noises based on Locally Optimum Detection Statistic
In most previously reported studies on pseudonoise (PN) code acquisition, independent additive noises have been assumed in various noise environments. The use of an independent observation model may cause considerable performance degradation in modern high datarate communication systems. In these studies, only additive noise model is considered. In this paper, a new detector for PN code acquisi...
